About a month ago, I was in a very lazy and unmotivated place in terms of exercise. I had been going to the gym on and off for years, being motivated for a few weeks here and there, but when I didn’t see any immediate results or the changes that I wanted, I would give up or fall out of the habit. For this reason, I was hesitant that I could find an exercise routine that would keep me motivated, up until I met Ricardo. Even after our first chat, it was obvious that I would make a positive change, not just with exercise, but with my eating habits as well. As I walked away, I was excited, not only about our future sessions, but also his plan to change my lifestyle for good!

After three days on Ricardo’s detox plan (which, by the way, is a far cry from the ‘I-don’t-eat-a-single-thing’ lemon detox diet), I had already lost cm’s off my body! Once the detox was done, I moved onto the healthy eating plan that Ricardo had created. And to my surprise, it is a completely realistic and achievable lifestyle change! I am never hungry and I feel way more energetic than I ever have. I’m not going to lie; I haven’t stuck to it every day (after all, there are just some days where a girl can’t go without chocolate), but instead of getting in trouble when I showed up at training like I expected, Ricardo merely had a chuckle and offered me the support I needed to get back on track! (And some healthy chocolate brands that he allows me to have as a treat now. Yum!).

Combine all that with some tough but fun workout sessions, and I’ve been feeling pretty damn good! Ricardo’s training is not your typical (ie boring) ‘cardio, plus weights, equals weight loss’ session. He makes every single session enjoyable – every day is different! I am also doing a lot less cardio than I thought I would be doing (yay!), as he focuses on strengthening and toning to promote weight loss. The sessions are also packed with new information, as Ricardo has an interesting and informative answer to every question I ask.

All in all, I noticed a positive change to my body within a couple of weeks of starting with Ricardo. I have found a lifestyle change that I can stick to, and have gained enough understanding of it that I feel like I could keep it up whenever my sessions with him end (which hopefully isn’t any time soon). He is the most knowledgeable, passionate and fun trainer that I have ever come across, and he motivates and supports me in every way. It is a pleasure to go to training every week and I will continue to recommend Ricardo to everyone that I can!

Being a model is loads of fun but can be very hard work to maintain your body especially when you love food like I do. As a model you need lean muscle not bulky muscle, which Ricardo completely understood.

I unfortunately had let myself go a little bit and I needed to quickly (1 month) get back into shape. As we all know it is extremely hard to find the motivation to get on track again. I was so relieved to find this motivation oozing out of Ricardo, he is highly supportive and works you hard. You get detailed diet programs, guided, creative workouts, and ‘homework’ exercises. I met Ricardo in Sydney. I was impressed right away by his professionalism and personality. Indeed, after an hour with him he told me what I have to do to improve my posture in order to resolve my back pain. It was amazing, because I had never told him that my back was painful, he just saw it by himself. He gave me some exercises to do and explained how those exercises will correct my posture and relieve my pain. Moreover, he found a way to make the exercises fun, without spending too much time each day exercising.

After a month I felt my posture changed and my back was much less painful. So I came back to him to ask his advice about another type of training.

I am a wake boarder competitor. I finished 1st in the Switzerland Open tour in 2006 and 5th in the Switzerland championship. Therefore, I asked Ricardo to provide me with a training program in order to improve my skills in wakeboarding. Once again, I was completely astonished by his knowledge and analytic skill in creating a specific training regime. It was exactly what I needed; he updated the program every month following my improvement. I can feel the difference in my style and my ability to do wakeboarding.

Ricardo made me realize that sport is not only about practicing to become good, but that real physical training needs to be done. He opened my eyes with a way to improve myself in my sport much faster than before with a better training quality and a better mindset. I have to thank Ricardo a lot for this new approach and for the improvement in both my posture and my ability to do wakeboarding.

He also helped me a lot in the training of the junior wakeboard team that I have now started to train. We are all grateful to him.

Prior to getting pregnant with our daughter Maia, my husband David and I wanted to get physically fit. We felt it was important for the health of our baby , my physical well being during the pregnancy as well as being a good way to prepare us both for the mental and physical act of birthing our daughter. Ricardo's training sessions were an excellent way to build our stamina, our physical strength and mental fortitude. He was able to assess how we each handle challenges and figured out the best way to encourage us when we were hitting our personal limits. Just when we thought we could not go any further, Ricardo showed us that indeed we could and that proved to be an invaluable tool to birth preparation.

Birthing a baby is as much a mental exercise as well as a physical act of trusting your body's wisdom that it knows how to birth. In my training sessions with Ricardo, I realized that I had energy that was held in reserves and, when I needed it, all I had to do was to tap into it and my body would go further. What a wonderful realization before having a child as I knew that I had the mental and physical strength to handle any challenges that came my way during the pregnancy and at our daughter's birth. What was equally important to David and I was that we learned how each of us prefers to be coached when we reach our limits. So that when it came time to birth our daughter, David knew what cues would be most effective in supporting me when I needed a bit of encouragement. And since we trained together, we felt that it further strengthened our partnership as birthing and parenting are all about teamwork and learning how to work together and support each other.

We have wonderful memories of birthing our daughter Maia together as a team, the three of of working together that magical day when she came into the world. She was born in seven hours at home with our midwife by our sides. We liked to give thanks to Ricardo for helping us realize what we were capable of achieving on so many levels.

Honestly, we originally thought that we were going to Ricardo to become more physically fit, but the benefits of his training sessions really were beyond our wildest expectations. Ricardo is a fabulous trainer and we could not recommend him enough to couples who are preparing to have children and for individuals who want to realize their personal potential through physical fitness.

I started training with Ricardo two years ago at the age of 45. In the beginning I came as a tag along with my daughter. I was overweight, sluggish and felt constantly tired. I was getting out of breath just going up the stairs. I also needed some one to motivate me. Going to gym didn't work, as I would loose interest very quickly.

After meeting with Ricardo, he gave me an eating regime that I continue to use until today. It's not a diet, it's a healthy life style. I continue to exercise with Ricardo on regular basis. He encouraged me to get involved in running. In the last two years I completed 8 km mother’s day run twice, 9 KM bridge run twice, city to surf and 10 KM run at the Olympic Park.

In July 2011, I climbed Mt. Fuji with my daughter. None of this would be possible two years ago.

I met Ricardo 6 months after giving birth to our amazing little girl. A few months post-baby my weight plateaued and I was finding the weight loss a challenge. During my first session with Ricardo I knew that this type of training would be different. Ricardo is a trainer who looks at your life as a whole : reviewing your diet, lifestyle and motivation. He is dedicated to his clients success in a way that I had not experienced before with other trainers. Within the first two months I had shed half my body fat and was on the road to fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans.

As a Pilates enthusiast and a certified trainer, I am a stickler for form when exercising. So is Ricardo. He is completely focused on his clients during the session. And now, almost a year on, I am training to run 14 kms. (A huge feat for someone who is almost allergic to running).
